13th August
August 13th, 2007The loch water level has risen 2’ 5” over the past few days due to heavy rain. With feeder burns still running high this will mean that the burn mouth areas such as the Blackwater, Lendrick and Milton will fish well over coming days. Another 2000 one and a quarter pound plus brownies will be stocked this coming Wednesday giving time for them to ‘settle’ in before the Scottish Youth Championship weekend later this month. The heaviest fish taken last week was a lovely 3lb 8oz brownie taken on a Silver Invicta by Michael Winters from Falkirk. The Ness Glen AC had 5 boats out returning with 13 fish weighing 14lbs 3oz. The top taking flies have been the Straggle Dabbler, Silver Invicta, mini lures, and the Clan Chief fished on either a DI 3 or fast glass lines. The best drifts have proved to be Grahavie bay, Otter Island, Lendrick point, the Roadshore and Scout Bay.
